Mughal Pavilion, 17th century, Rajasthan. These little domed pavilions occur all over northern India and Rajasthan, in multiple guises, both attached to buildings and freestanding. They have a peacefulness and harmonious symmetrical quality. Mine can house a candle and an incense bowl.
